You Never Can Tell

You never can tell what a stock will really do; all you can do is refine your thoughts as you go along. For instance, with Botanix (BOT), I thought that oncce they got FDA approval, the share price would double in a day. Well, they got FDA approval and immediatl=ely annouced that they would raise cash throug ht e issuing of new shares. The result? When they started trading, the share price went up 10%. To be honest, I was underwhelmed. Now I do expect the share price to continue its rise next week and it probably won't stop until it gets to (in my thoughts) somewhere between 70 cents and a dollar. Which means, in my opinion, that getting in now, after FDA approval of their drug, you still could double or even triple your money. COULD And then there is still the possibility of BOT being bought out by a big pharma company. Hmm. Delicious thoughts.

What Do I Really Know?

Not a lot. Most of what I buy and sell is based on research and best guess, and that sometimes goes wrong. For example: Dateline Resources (DTR). Their shares have been hovering around 1.2 cents for quite a while, which is a bit surprising since they have 880,000 ounces of gold in their resource plus significant rare earths. My feeling was that there would be a significant uptick in the share price once they conducted a resource upgrade. Why? Because they had released a number of drilling and assay announcements that were, quite frankly, really good. A week ago the resource upgrade came out and sure enough, it was brilliant. Now, they were sitting on 1.1 million ounces of gold, an ugrade of 35%. And gold is at an all-time high price. Everything points to a brilliant increase in the share price. And yet the share price went down. It is currently siiting at 0.9 cents. Why? I think the market doesn't like the low level of cash the company has on hand. Mining is an expensive business....
