I keep one of those pocket diaries with me at all times. You know the type: they are generally promotional and are given away for free.
They are great.
If, in my research, I come across a stock that looks like having a big announcement coming up, I make a brief note in the diary. That way, when I have cashed in one lot of shares and I am ready to buy again I have some idea of where to go next.
DTR is a good example. They are looking at completing an upgrade to their resource assessment in the 3rd quarter of 2024. So I will check in at the beginning of July and look at dramatically increasing my holding then.
KSN is another that has a good bit of news in the third quarter. So a note is made in the diary to check back in with them in July.
Does it always work? No. Because I am working on available information from company releases and information.
For example, I was looking at IMC and had a solid date for when the next jump would happen because of an uncomping event (the initial results of a drug trial). The results came in 2 weeks early and I missed that one (from memory, the share price rose by 60%).
Not to worry, there's plenty of stuff happening out there.
So get yourself one of those little diaries and use it. It's a great tool.
AND... if you do find something exciting coming up, tell others about it. A bit of upward pressure on the share price is always good,
